Some things are irreplaceable, like DaVinci’s lost manuscripts or the original Aunt Viv from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Most rotary airlock valves, on the other hand, are easy to replace when you work with ACS Valves.
The short answer to this question is yes, you can replace your old valve with an ACS model, regardless of the original manufacturer. Our drop-in replacements install quickly with precise alignment. If you’re looking to replace a rotary valve, here are some other things to keep in mind.
How does replacing a valve work?
Our Pre-fit Performance rotary valves are specifically designed as drop-in replacements. To get started, just tell us a bit about the old valve you’re looking to replace. We’ll make sure your replacement valve has the exact measurements and specifications to fit seamlessly into your system for easy, plug-and-play installation.
What models are supported?
Anything at all, though we have a few models made specially for this purpose. Our DR-S Series valves are official drop-in replacements designed for faster ordering and fast, precise installation. It’s often used as a replacement for Meyer’s HD-X valve.
To replace FT or AN-type dust collection valves, we recommend the AN-X Dust Collector. It’s an NFPA compliant model that works well in all applications. Direct-drive operation and tight internal clearances make it a good choice for facilities that handle combustible dusts.
The CDC-CI Series is specifically designed as a simple, fast drop-in replacement of Carter Day CI rotary valves. It’s used mainly in the chemical, construction and food industries as a tough and efficient solution for metering, feeding or airlock purposes.
That said, we can technically configure any of our existing rotary valves to match your needs. Just tell us about your system, your application and the materials you’re conveying, and then we’ll size and quote the perfect new valve.
What if the old one had special features?
In most cases, we have an equivalent valve or can recommend features that will perform the same function. If you’re looking to boost conveying efficiency even more, we can configure a valve that works better for your process – by applying a coating to extend longevity, adding a rail system to speed up cleaning, or changing the rotor type to improve material flow, to name a few examples.
We can also make sure your new rotary valve is equipped for full NFPA and OSHA compliance.
Why should I get an ACS model?
There are lots of great reasons to work with our team, but a big one is that we perform a thorough inspection on every rotary valve that leaves our warehouse. The end result is precise parts that always fit, as well as a smooth, high-quality casting free of cracks and crevasses — all essential features for safety, longevity, and performance.
With plenty of configuration options, as well as valves that can handle high temperatures and pressure differentials, we can ensure your valve runs smoothly for years to come.
Do you ship to the United States?
Of course! If you have any questions or concerns about shipping with ACS Valves, check out an animated video we made to explain the process.
