Imagine you’re buying a new car. You tell the dealer you need something to seat a family, drive to work and survive the occasional road trip. It might have a few bells and whistles, like heated seats and remote start, but nothing too fancy.
The dealer shows you a tricked-out DeLorean with neon underglow, spinning rims and enough flux capacitors to get you through the next two millennia.
Not exactly what you asked for, right?
ACS Valves does not sell flux capacitors, primarily because we don’t believe in time travel but also because we know your conveying system doesn’t need it.
But that’s just one of the many benefits you’ll get from working with us (besides our charming personalities). If you’re curious to learn more about our people and our process — and why that should matter to a busy manufacturer like you — read on.
1) We geek out about valves
We know more about rotary valves and conveying systems than anyone should reasonably know about anything. Yeah, we’re total nerds that way.
In fact, it’s one of the top criteria we look for in a sales rep when we’re hiring.
“Experience in the industry is key,” says Megan Thompson, President and COO of ACS Valves. “Take our rep, Herb Nagy, who has been in the industry for over 40 years. I could talk to him about rotary valves all day, because he knows them backwards and forwards.”
That’s how we know to make specific recommendations based on your operation. Which brings us to our next point…
2) We don’t give your valve the Xzibit treatment
Remember “Pimp My Ride”? That’s not what we’re trying to do with your conveying system.
We talk a lot about valve customization and how it improves efficiency, because no two applications, materials and conveying systems are the same. That’s absolutely true, but the tricky part is knowing exactly how to customize a rotary valve to fit your operation. Some features look shiny, but do they make sense for your facility?
Like we pointed out earlier, it's tough to trust your car dealer when he’s trying to sell you a spaceship. That’s not our M.O. We only recommend coatings, options and accessories that benefit you in some way, whether it extends the lifespan of your valve, prevents material jamming or improves the safety of your employees.
By the way, we also make drop-in replacements from valves that come from other manufacturers, so there’s no hassle involved in upgrading your system.
3) We’re fast. Really fast.
We get it: you have people to see, bulk materials to convey. You don’t have time to waste waiting for quotes, shipments, tech support requests and follow-ups from the sales team.
“We get a lot of compliments about the speed of our turnaround,” says Thompson. “We typically send drawings and quotes within a day or less. 3D models are quick too.”
4) We won’t write you a novel when you just need a quote
We make an effort to ensure our quotes are easy to read. The details are shown in bullet form, the prices are clear, we add links to relevant pages on our website and we customize the body based on your needs.
“Quotes are individually tailored to the customer,” Thompson explains. “There’s nothing generic in there, but we also make sure it’s easy to read and understand.”
You spin me right round, baby, right round
To sum up, there are four key things you need to know about our sales team: we’re here to help, we respect your time, we won’t upsell you on things you don’t need, and our in-depth knowledge of rotary valves and conveying systems helps us make recommendations that save you time and money.
